WAYS YOU CAN GIVE

Giving is part of our lifestyle. We give because He first gave. By partnering financially with C3 Crawley, you become part of our mission to 'Go into all the world and make disciples', locally and internationally. Thank you to everyone who gives at C3 CRawley. Your giving is changing the world!

Why Do We Give?

God seeks to give. Man seeks to get. Giving is God’s way. Getting is man’s way. If we truly desire to live close to God and be more like Him, then we must begin by giving. “For God so loved the world that He gave…” – John 3:16. Giving is an attitude before it is an action. A generous person is giving in many ways – with only one of them being financial. And we humans love to be around generous, giving people. We loathe being stuck with those of the opposite attitude – stingy people.

People sometimes ask: "Is C3 Crawley a 'law' church or a 'grace' church?" We can usually tell what they’re getting at (why is it so often about the money?) We reply, “C3 Crawley is most certainly a grace church. The Law says, “Do not murder”. Grace says don’t even have hatred in your heart – instead make sure you love your enemy! The Law says, “Do not commit adultery”. Grace says don’t even have a shred of lust in your heart for another person who isn’t your spouse. The Law says, “Give 10 per cent of your income”. But grace ALWAYS goes beyond the Law. Why not be truly gracious and give 20 or even 30 per cent? When the Apostle Paul was writing about generosity and giving, he could never have imagined that a devoted Christ follower would give less than a religionist.

The Law is the basic standard – not the goal to strive for – grace always goes beyond.

And giving is good for us. Giving helps the church and its ministries function and thrive. Many people are reached as a result. Plus, we are stretched, adjusted, encouraged and blessed as a result. Plus, giving (like serving) is a fruit of ownership – this action shows we are part of the family. Where our treasure is, that’s where our attention will be.
